Wee Worship
Each Sunday, during the 9:30 Sunday School hour and 10:30 worship service, our children worship during our Wee Worship time. Wee Worship is a service designed for our K-5 children that provides them the opportunity learn more about biblical teachings and prayer.
“Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Mark 10:14 (NASB)
Based on our strong commitment to providing a church environment for children and youth that is loving and safe, we have established policies, procedures, and checks whose purpose is to:
- Protect children and youth from potentially abusive opportunities while they are involved in church-sponsored activities.
- Protect volunteers from unfounded allegations of child abuse.
- Protect the church by minimizing the extent of legal risk and liability as a result of child abuse issues

Kum Join-Us Class
The Kum-Join-Us Class meets each week in the Chapel. The class follows the Standard Publishing Adult Ministry Lessons and is taught by Art Liphard. The class supports Emrys and Usha Rees, missionaries in India on a regular basis. During the past year, monetary gifts were provided for Shepherd Community.
The Discovery Class
The Discovery Class is taught by Mark Mayhew and meets in the Conference Room (next to the minister’s office). The class is currently in a study of the book of Proverbs. Studies vary from books of the Bible to topical studies. The teaching style is open participant discussion from paperback study guides. The studies are chosen by class participants. The class chooses a different mission to support each year with Sunday school offering. They periodically will have activities away from the church.
The CIA Class
The CIA (Christians In Action) class continues to evolve. The Spring & Summer CIA program provided an alternative to the traditional lesson based curriculum. Our focus was on action based prayer centered on the needs of those in the class. Emphasis was centered on care, concern and active member participation.
Our Fall and Winter program will continue to emphasize prayer, but bring a lesson based component back into the classroom environment. Scripture combined with practical application will continue to dominate the direction and focus of the CIA class.
Action based Christianity and Bible relevancy to everyday life are concepts the class seeks to convey. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
small group ministry
our mission
The mission of Cumberland’s small groups ministry is to develop a deeper, more personal relationship with God and with others. Our desire is provide an environment to lead believers into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a place for those in our community to learn of the person of our Savior through both inward and outward relationships. The small groups are becoming the basis for the shepherding of the flock.
